TurbineOne is the frontline perception company. We deliver stronger situational awareness to first-responders and the U.S. Department of Defense. Our proprietary software solution is designed from the ground-up to operate in communications-contested and dangerous environments so that public sector heroes can take better actions against the threats they face. This position is geography-flexible and will report directly to the CTO.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application
- Design robotic systems from start to finish
- Develop and implement software that will control robots
- Create prototypes and work on necessary components (e.g. microprocessors)
- Develop cost-effective and efficient processes to produce the machines
- Perform integration tests and quality control
- Apply machine learning techniques
- Create complete documentation for robotic systems
- Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize their functionality
- Troubleshoot defects in the robot design
- Keep abreast of advancements in robotics and relevant fields of engineering
On a Typical Day You Would:
- Build and debug applications that enable robots to achieve localized waypoints using ROS.
- Determine pose and orientation of sensors and be familiar with transforms to enable accurate localization.
- Integrate GPS data into state estimation algorithms to ensure robot state is always correct despite negative factors like a robot being kicked or moved in odd ways.
Desired Qualifications:
- High standard of ethics, grit, integrity and moral character
- 5+ years of work experience
- College degree/certifications in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
- Positive and solution-oriented mindset
- Previous experience as a robotics engineer or similar role
- Well-versed in computer science, applied physics, and mechanics
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software
- Knowledge of cost, efficiency, and productivity optimization methods
- Ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems
- Experience in machine learning
